My Mom!!!!

Post by nomiyah » Thu Mar 06, 2008 10:32 pm

My Mom, who is also an artist on my publishing label, is the composer of the music for this film. I'm proud of her!!! She was chosen for the project because she was a Jewish refugee at 3-years-old. Here's the email from the film's director. It's a heavy subject but if anyone watches it, let me know what you think. From: Evvy EisenI wanted to let you know some very exciting news about the film I created and the exhibit based on my work photographing Holocaust survivors. Both are called Multiply by Six Million. The film will premiere on the Sundance Channel on May 2. The precise time has not yet been finalized. It will be broadcast nationwide over a two-year period and will also be available through Sundance Video on Demand. An exhibit of portraits of local survivors will be presented at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael from March 1- May 1. There will be a gallery opening on Thursday March 6 at 6:30 pm with food, drink. Nicole Milner will play selections from the film's beautiful score, which she composed. This event is free. The JCC is located at 200 North San Pedro Road in San Rafael. The Marin County weekly newspaper, the Pacific Sun is planning to do an article about the exhibit and film. It is scheduled to appear in the Friday Feb 29 issue.

Oh, Nomi......well done to your brave mom for revisiting the past in order to educate the public! Wow!Good to hear this news. Will you post somewhere up top when it gets closer? I think there are a lot of us who don't make it down the main page this far. I'd be very interested to see it.

May 2nd at 7 pm (Pacific Time) is the first showing of the film featuring my mom's music. We're having a viewing party at her house. It'll be on rotation for a year. It's a heavy movie but if you get a chance to catch it, let me know. Here's the link:http://www.sundancechannel.com/films/500318549It's not quite mother's day, but HERE'S TO YOU MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!
