America's Got Talent -- Why not?

Post by aubreyz » Mon May 11, 2009 11:08 am

So I was supposed to be in Houston this weekend for work and had the crazy idea to try out for America's Got Talent while there. The work trip got canceled and I couldn't work out the logistics to get to the audition... so I submitted by video. They don't take original songs unfortunately. I know it's a long shot, but it was fun putting this together.

Aub -According to the contract you have to sign going in, they'll own you lock, stock, and barrel. So, weigh it all very carefully before you sign it all away...IMHO

It didn't hurt LD Miller's career; I'm thinkin' bout gettin' some harmonica lessons from him. Nice vid, Aub!

Somebody dripping with talent, showcasing it well yet also providing a little "tongue-in-cheek" humor in a semi-modest "ho-hum... no big deal" fashion. I love it and it's awesome to have such cool and talented friends (with a sense of humor)! Dave

Aub, your video is extremely well done!!! I really suspect this is just the type of thing they love. It makes for great TV to have some guy with huge talent standing in his living room auditioning. The picture of the kids in the background makes it even better. I'd be very surprised if you DIDN'T make the cut. But what do I know? The only thing I'd have left out is the bit about owning a recording studio, just because I think it works better for you to come across as just a regular guy-- not a pro-- who blows their socks off when you start singing.Good luck!!Cam

Thanks for all the comments and hits guys and gals! Last time I checked no other video posted on the America's Got Talent blog had any comments, and I now have 17 very positive comments and nearly 200 video plays. And it's not just Taxi friends, there are quite a few people who are reposting the link on their myspace, facebook, and twitter pages - several I don't even know.Just wanted to thank you all for helping me to have a shot at getting noticed. It wouldn't offend me at all if you were to keep at it by posting links to your contacts http://agtnbc.blogspot.com/2009/05/aub- ... htmlThanks again. No matter what happens this has been fun!Aub
