Chamber music live!

Post by ncc1701 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:57 am

It's pretty small potatoes, I know, but the Astoria Chamber Players are going to be performing my strings piece, "Allegro Moderato," in their spring concert series March 7 and 8 in Cannon Beach and Astoria, Oregon. They're featuring works by four Northwest composers, and I get to stand up and give a little pre-concert talk on "my inspiration."AND, they will actually pay me something! They got a grant from the local Cultural Arts Coalition just for this purpose. I'm pretty stoked.Kathleen

I would not call this small potatoes! Congratulations!!! I am one of those people that do not enjoy the process of composing - but I love the moment my piece is heard and I find that it touched someone. I live for moments like the one you are about to have. Will they record it? (or do you have a midi version we could hear?)Once again - Congratulations!!! ~ Lydia

I think I found the piece on your TAXI page. It is wonderful. I love Bach's music and this brings me the same kind of joy to listen to. Once again - Congratulations!~ Lydia
