Hey WTA. I listened to parts (first 2 minutes, at least) of all 4 tunes that are on your TAXI page. Since you asked for some feedback from other pro writers, let me speak to you as a writer about the writing. First off, there are parts of what you do that I like! But I'm an honest guy, so I'm gonna just dive in.The song "For The Fall", honestly, I never heard the hook - I never heard a distinct "For The Fall" sung anywhere. There didn't seem to be a definable chorus or hook to my ears at all. And that's a problem because everything is about the song! A great performance of a song that doesn't grab the listener won't make you a living in music. Also, I felt the hook for "You Sustain Me" was a bit hidden because of the way you pronounce the phrase - it didn't "pop" out and grab me as The Hook of the song. One last thing - your vocals are pitchy in places. I heard pitch problems in all 4 songs. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm dumping on you. I hear some good stuff in here too, I'm just pointing out what I heard as weak spots.Take what I have to say with a grain of salt - it's just one peer's opinion and frankly, straight up hard rock is not what I typically write or perform. I highly suggest sending the songs in to TAXI listings where you can get some feedback from the A&R reps that know your genre. And you've taken the best steps of all, bro! You joined TAXI and you're asking for feedback. You can make some great things happen for yourself - I believe you have the talent to do so. Just keep learning from the screeners and from the recordings you do.Best of luck!cb

Chrisbee, Big thanks for your time; I know how valuable it is. My main challenge at this point in my writing style is traversing the fine line of art and commercial applicability. I have had big influences from blues vocalists and in that the feel can take premise over clarity so your tips are being heard with wide open ears, thank you. There are a few pitchy spots which have really become clear after compression, good hears there. My enunciation of For The Fall in the chorus is not as distinct as it could or should be and that again is that "artsy" issue I'm currently battling, good point there. Thank you very much for your kind word of encouragement and seeing in my work the potential that every writer hopes is found by his peers. wta

hey man, the peer to peer forum is great for feedback, youd have a lot more responses if you put a song or two in there
in the time of trumpets and guitars, there was an oboe
