Hi everyone...happy Friday. I've been a Taxi member for two years, but I am new to the boards. I've made a few submissions and I got an incredibly slow start - but it feels great to finally be moving forward. I'd love any feedback on Show Me The Way (or Here) posted at the link below. Thanks very much!Warm regards,Triciahttp://

Hmmm, I posted the same link on jpf's forum and it seems to be working there. I'm going to try it again...I'm hopeful the url works this time - I'm definitely new at this, sorry!

It worked!I really enjoyed your songs! Your voice is VERY nice, and I think the songs are really nicely written and performed. One thing I would suggest is to ease off on the effects...especially the reverb on your vocal. It seems to me that these great vocal performances would pack even more of a punch if the vocal was more "in your face", as if you were sitting right in front of me singing. Your voice is really quite strong...don't try to hide behind reverb! That's my opinion, anyway, for what it's worth. Thanks for sharing, Tricia...really nice stuff. -B

Oh, also...this kind of post, asking for feedback on songs, is usually found in the "Peer To Peer" section of the board. TAXI may even move it over there. That may be why you didn't get a lot of feedback right away. It's not that people don't care!

Thanks Brennan -- I appreciate your feedback very much!! You pegged me on the reverb thing...I don't think of myself as being a great singer so you are right that I'm trying to hide. It was a bit of a struggle for me because I can't afford to pay a demo singer and don't know anyone who sings. It's nice to hear that people don't think my vocals are awful. I'm going to see about backing that reverb thing down.On your note about reposting it elsewhere - hopefully Taxi will move it (?). Can you offer any words of wisdom about posting?? I'm just not quite sure about the forum etiquette/protocol for asking for feedback and I've seen some other posts that seem to suggest I should respond to others before I ask for feedback on my stuff. I've read quite a lot on here, but don't really see the answer to that. Maybe I'll ask that question in the peer to peer forum.Brennan, thanks again for your post...I appreciate the feedback!!Tricia

Hi Trcia,,I thought the song was extremely good. Don't worry about your vocals.Whatever you were doing ,I thought help to present the song in a unique way.

My two cents: Great piano tone. I find it's hard to get such a clean tone (at least in my home studio). I think your voice is beautiful, and sounds sincere to me, which is hard to fake, so that is a big plus. What are your goals with this song? Are you using it as a demo to try and sell the song to another singer, or are you hoping to market the song with yourself as the artist?

Hi... I just got done listening to your HIT song! Piano sounds great, your voice sounds great, reverb to me is fine... but the recording quality on the vocals is not excellent... I hear pops/crackles. If you had all the individual tracks... I could mix them here in my studio and you'd have another 'version' of this song. I'd be happy to help. Great song!
