Introducing Myself to the Forum

Hi all,I’d like to introduce myself to the forum. I’m Jamie Nelson from Eau Claire, WI. (About 1 ½ hours east of Minneapolis, MN)I joined Taxi 2 weeks ago and just got back from the Taxi Road Rally last night. What a great bunch of people, I met there.I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions here.I write and record mostly Modern Rock. I have some friends that I collaborate and record with, using the Internet. My primary instrument is guitar.I’m primarily looking for song placements in Film and TV. He primarily writes Modern Rock songs with heavy guitar riffs and his deep vocals sound like a cross between Johnny Cash and Lou Reed.2007 has been an incredible year for Jamie. He has released 7 new singles this year. Also, collaborating with other songwriters with the use of the Internet, he has been able to be a part of the creation of some other great songs.In 1999 Jamie produced and released a CD for his Heavy Metal band XanaX B.C.R. that he performed and wrote many of the songs on.Jamie played mostly hard rock and heavy metal until 2002. Then in 2003 he started exploring bluegrass and other acoustic styles of music.In April of 2006 Jamie was featured in entertainment magazine Volume One. In the summer of 2006 Jamie filmed a performance of an original song he wrote for the movie "Illegal Use of Joe Zopp". The film will be making the Film Festival Circuit starting with Sundance in January of 2008.Jamie also works a full-time, day job, helping libraries with computers and their networks. Currently he is not performing but is focusing on writing and recording new songs. Jamie is looking for song placements and writing for other artists.
