A Huge (yet tiny) big deal...

I know this won't mean anything to anybody but me, but...One of the local radio stations (which also just happens to be the world's most powerful ALL-solar radio station...100K watts...KTAO) is putting out a new compilation CD that includes a song of mine (the CD realease party is the 13th, the day after I get home from the Rally), and a waitress JUST walked up and told me she heard my name on the radio today during a promo spot for the release of this new disc.WOOHOO!!!!!I've been doing this since I was 14 (and I'm 50)...so hearing my song over the airwaves is something I've dreamt of (virtually) my entire life. I haven't heard anything on the air yet, but it's great to know it's actually happening.TYGMTYGF!!!!!Ted

Ted, congrats to you!! It seems to me that every bit of success you achieve is something to get excited about, even if it only seems small -- after reading these boards, you just never know who will hear it or what will come of it. Maybe the greatest thing you can imagine, or maybe just one person hearing your song and loving it. Regardless...hang on to the thought that each stepping stone (even if it's only a tiny pebble) all lead somewhere... I'm very proud for you. Enjoy your success!

How many people in the universe can say they wrote a song and it was played on the radio. Think about it... From your head, to the airwaves... Take pride... We all dream our whole lives of one day hearing ourselves on the radio! A few years back, from a TAXI forward, I was played on a small AM station in Detroit. I had to listen on the internet, which was very nice, but not like when it is on your car or home radio. About 1-2 months ago, I was played on a very small station near Philly... I made sure I heard my song on the car radio! Forget about making money for a second. Imagine one day you walk into a 7-11 to buy a newspaper and hear YOUR song in the background. For folks like us, that would be heavenly...Cheers,Casey

thanks, you guys. Thank you so much. It gets better. My friend (and my studio engineer these past 2.5 yrs) went to see his Dr. a couple of months ago for some stomach pains...two hours later he was being airlifted to a cancer center in Texas...and 6 hours later his colon was removed. Around here, he's a musical legend; so the whole town turned out last night for a benefit fundraiser/concert/barndance (and we raised more than $25,000 to help with his medical bills). On my way there, I heard the promo spot where they mention my name. On the way home, I heard the promo again AND they followed it with my song.I just about had to pull the car over. But it was a little weird having nobody there to scream and beat on the roof of my car with me while I was sitting at the stop light. I think I terrified the woman who pulled up beside me in the other lane. Thanks, again. And I'll see (many of you) in a couple of days.AAAUUUUGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!Ted

Ted, that's so cool!! I wish you'd had someone there with you too but honest, the way you wrote that, I sorta felt like I was. Congrats and kudos to all y'all for supporting your friend. What a wonderful gift, to have help at such a time.
