Spoken Word

As a writer and spoken word performer, I am wondering how the market looks for creating a music presence with spoken word. I have heard a little bit on the radio, but that's just the city where I live. At this moment, I am seeking locations around the country where I can create a presence in the industry. I have musicians I work with, but at this moment everyone is very busy. I will need to find a group of like minded artists to work with me in creating my first CD. I have loads of material.
