My song Hittin the Nuts Tonight was just completed and cut in Nashville using A-list musicians. It will either be the title track or the closing track for the film which was just picked up by Warner Brothers. I love it and it's what I wanted from the beginning. Check it out at my soundclick site. Go to the mp3 link on the right and scroll down to the player and click the hi-fi button.

Congratulations!!! This should go in the "Success Stories" forum. I know several people here had critiqued your song and thought it might not make it.

Quote:I know several people here had critiqued your song and thought it might not make it.Are you maybe thinking about a different track (or person)? I don't remember the song itself being posted before. As I remember, the only thing posted were the lyrics and practically half the board got involved with ideas and suggestions. Definitely one of the more entheuastic responses to a post. Anyway, it was a great lesson for me about the level of detail (write-rewrite-rewrite-etc) that we should be aspiring to. The track sounds great by the way. Dave

I am pretty sure this song was the one posted. People had complaints about the piano, and thought the lyrics were too vague for the song to be successful, IIRC - at least as a standalone song! It was an enthusiastic discussion for sure but there was at least some less optimistic predictions.

The whole process was pretty much posted for that song. The lyrics were re-written about 40 times and thanks to the encouragement and support from this thread, I would have settled on the lyrics. The first version of the song was posted and I wasn't happy with that demo. The singer of that demo was supposed to collaborate with me and he pretty much wouldn't listen and he mixed it before I had a chance to give it a thumbs up. I scratched him from the project and had Danny Green in Nashville record it and the new version is on my soundclick site. It's great and I'm very happy with it. Go to the mp3 link on my site and scroll down to hear it. I've got it hidden for now while I focus on my wedding song. Thanks!
