Dear Artists & Djs,Well as many of you know Secondlife.Com is getting pretty big in the music scene now, Personally i have a small nightclub and a huge Media Center where residents in secondlife can come and listen to new music, download, purchase mp3s and a few other things. We also let Artists and djs connect to our shoutcast server and broadcast live in our nightclub. Basically residents can TIP you money as well not like your normal gig you do at REAL nightclubs however if you have the following things i would suggest letting me know we could setup something.1. Stong internet connection cable, dsl etc *dont use wireless*2. Broadcasting Software *virtual dj, shoutcast, icecast etc*3. You need to register on secondlife.com and download the program then connect and be present during your event. Its pretty easy so IF you want to arrange a virtual concert or event let me know. Also IF you have a MAC system and have Darwin Video Broadcasting we could also setup a live video concert i have a linux server and i am going to download the darwin server program so people on mac systems can connect to my server and broadcast live video and audio feed.

Fascinating idea, there; I'd imagine a honky-tonk hillbilly band like mine could score some nice (real-world) media coverage with a gig of this nature, (in a high-tech redneck sorta vein) but I fear the technical challenges of a live streaming event might be a little much for my compadres and me. Haven't paid much attention to second life up to now, as most of my friends and relatives think I'm living in a dream world already, hehe. If the offer is ongoing, I'll see about getting up to speed on the software/hardware end of things and start a dialogue with the band about it; it do sound like fun. Maybe in a month or two? In the meantime,I'd love to hear how the project's coming along. Plesae keep us posted.
