Hey everybody,
I know this is a longshot because the deadline is coming up really soon (the 29th), but I just thought I'd see if anyone is interested in writing/recording topline (lyrics and vocal melody) for this boy band placement that's coming up. Obviously we'd split the authorship 50/50:

"CONTEMPORARY TOP 40 POP SONGS with MALE VOCALS in the style of "Troublemaker" by Olly Murs, "Glad You Came" by The Wanted, "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, etc., are needed by a producer who's working with an up and coming boy band. Actually, this gent is himself a very successful songwriter who has a really good track record of writing for, producing, and developing bands. He's looking for outside songs for his current project. Quoting the source: "Songs must be very well structured, with immediate and obvious chorus melodies, and lyrics that put a clever twist on typical Pop topics. Please try and distance yourself from the clichéd love song themes." Mid-to-Up Tempo songs only. Male vocals only. Vocal and instrumental demo presentation must be stellar! Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than Friday, July 29, 2013.

I have a track up on my Taxi page called "New Boy Band Pop (Inst. Scr. Mix 1)." It's still a pretty rough demo right now, but there should be enough there to at least maybe inspire a verse, pre-chorus, and chorus idea if anyone is interested in giving it a shot. And then we could hone from there.

I tried this forum just a couple weeks ago and found a great collaborator before, but he's too busy for this one right now, so I thought I'd see if I can strike gold again! Hope to hear from someone!

Oops, forgot to mention this, but unless you live in the NYC area (where I am), it would also be best if you've got some decent recording gear so you can demo the vocal part decently. (And very possibly record the final demo -- I've got a semi-decent voice, but not really the right stuff for this sort of thing.)

Remember, this is a major label artist listing, so they're gonna have a very high bar for this one.

Update!

I just spoke to someone at Taxi. This listing was taken down because there was a problem with it. One obvious problem (well, not so obvious really, because I just now noticed it) is the deadline date they posted: Friday, July 29th. Well, Friday isn't the 29th, Friday is the 26th! Today!

So, not sure what's gonna happen with this listing after all. But I'll keep you posted if anything important happens.

That's a really cool track. I can't try it right now for such a short turnaround (assuming Monday), but I do like it a lot.

Thanks for the reply. I just found out they're actually gonna repost the listing in the Aug. 1 batch.

However, since that's gonna buy us some more time (probably a couple more weeks at least), my other cowriter (Steve Collom, another Taxi member) is gonna give it a shot after all.

I love boyband music, I'd give it a try!
However, I'm a girl, so I can't be the final vocal on it :-/ But if you want I could give it a shot just to get the lyrics/melody?

Not sure if you saw my last post, but I sort of filled the position with my previous collaborator already.

But I will probably be needing a female vocal sometime soon because there are plenty of female listings coming up that I would also like to shoot for, if you'd be up for one of those.

Do you have a Taxi hosting page? Do you have any examples of previous work that I could check out?
