Hello Fellow Songwriters,

My name is David Geer. I am a Country songwriter / lyricist seeking a Country collaborator who writes great, current melodies. If you write melodies and need a lyricist, I invite you to introduce yourself. I have pasted two lyric samples to demonstrate my abilities.

Shoot ‘Em Down, Cowgirl! © 2015 David D. Geer

It ain’t high noon
Twenty paces
It’s Midnight
At the Oasis
Bar and Inn
With your best friend
Set ‘em up
Let’s go again.

Hammer back
A mind eraser
Silver Bullet
For your chaser.

Shoot ‘Em Down, Cowgirl!
Once again
Lift it high
And pour it in
Throw your head back
Feel the burn
Leave your shot glass
Overturned
Shoot ‘Em Down, Cowgirl!

Cast your cautions
To the wind
Belly up
Let’s don’t pretend
You haven’t played
This game before
Pull the trigger
On one more.

Hammer back
A mind eraser
Silver Bullet
For your chaser.

[Repeat Chorus]

I Can Cry It Out In Tears © 2015 David D. Geer

I know how love feels
Even if I don’t say so
It rocks you then it leaves you
Reeling as it goes.

Each time, I hit my knees
In quiet disbelief and fear
I can’t put it into words
But I Can Cry It Out In Tears.

I still believe that love is
Good to those who wait
I don’t pretend to have the
Patience of a saint.

But when the one
I’d die to keep just disappears
I can’t put it into words
But I Can Cry It Out In Tears.

I dry my eyes
I hold my tongue
Hoping some day
She’ll come
And stay.

But as I watch
Those days turn slowly into years
I can’t put it into words
But I Can Cry It Out In Tears.

You remember how Lennon & McCartney co-wrote? Paul wrote melodies, handed them off to John, perhaps with a dummy lyric to sing the melody, and John wrote the lyrics. That's the kind of co-writing relationship I'm looking for. If you've worked hard to write great Country melodies and aren't satisfied with the lyrics or don't have any lyrics to speak of, I would love to write lyrics for you.
