Seeking Vocalist for Funky-Pop licensing focused track - [THREAD COMPLETED]

Hi Taxi members,

I'm a songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist looking for a confident funk-pop vocalist to cut final vox for this song. After vocals are dont I can get to final arrangement tweaks and the mix. I've sketched in the vox part myself for context and phrasing, although some lyric lines have been tweaked since this was done. I'm aware it's more than likely I may not find a suitable voice on the group collab page here, but it's worth a shot hey :) So if you think you may be have something to offer the track, please let me know.

I'm hesitant to mention singers that I may be aiming to capture a similar vibe to, as I often think that can be more misleading than helpful. But if I had to give a "broad stroke" idea, i'd say I'm leaning toward a strong edgy timbre with reasonably good range and ability to pitch notes well, although not so much dark or husky. However, I am hoping not to rule too many possibilities out at this early stage of searching.

The track most probably suits a male voice, but a female voice could possibly sit in nicely if it's not too thin or teen-ish, (I'd have to hear an idea of the female voice in context with the track to make that call).
I do need someone who can track with a mic/mic pre signal chain that is complimentary to their voice type (or if using a cheap chinese capsule, knows why the mic/pre combo is suitable for their voice timbre delivery despite the common "brittle whistle-tone" drawback).

I hope this doesn't come across as hyper specific, however I want to be as detailed as I can about what I'm shooting for, so I don't waste mine or other people's time in the process. I do have access to other co-writer vocalists, although none seeming suitable for this type of track.

Appreciate you reading and considering my search.

Steve,

I've listened to your song and I can hear what you're after. I do a lot of funk myself and could probably help you out, if you're still interested.

Here are a few samples of my vocals:

Let me know if you wanna pursue it.

Pardon the butt-insky... this is good info for me, too, Nick.
Have you locked into the key/range that tends to regularly work best for your voice?

Edit: never mind - the sample tracks can get me in the ballpark. :? :P

Hi Nick (and Peter - no probs at all with the butt-insky),

Thanks a bunch for reaching out, I appreciate it. This song is done and dusted now and already in the catalog.

Will certainly keep your offer in mind for other tracks though if you're cool with that?

What's your main grab-bag? Vocals, production, lyrics?

Look forward to chatting more down the track

~Steve
