Collaborator not a Taxi member

Hi all,

I just spent about 30 minutes searching through the forums and the main taximusic.com website and could not find the answer to this question. I'm a regular on Taxi TV and have been a member for 2 1\2 years and have been to 2 Road Rallies.

Someone contacted me on SoundCloud and we have begun collaborating remotely. If we're a good fit, if it's allowed, I'd like to write and submit to Taxi listings with this collaborator if things pan out.

Can I share a Taxi listings details with a collaborator who is not a Taxi member so they know what they need to write for?

If the answer is yes, may I submit tracks that we have jointly created as long as I am a Taxi member and we are both listed in the meta data in the files submitted, and I have authorization between us to submit on both our behalves?

Thanks for your time,

Ed Busacker

Yes, I'd just make sure your collaborator knows the score as if you get contacted by a LIbrary you will need all your ducks in a row ..i.e. what are their PRO info, are all the splits agreed etc. You will likely need to provide other info on any the contract like social security number etc so make sure they know that going in as there is nothing worse than the other party getting cold feet when it comes to the crunch.

Thanks cosmicdolphin. Would it be any different if they joined Taxi in terms of needing to know their personal information?

Taxi allows submissions as long as at least ONE writer is a member. So you can collaborate with someone who is not a member and submit.

As far as the personal info, Cosmicdolphin was referring to info that a LIBRARY would need if you were presented a deal. That has nothing to do with Taxi. It's a good idea to have your collaborator's correct name, PRO info (e.g PRO and CAE/IPI#), mailing address, phone, and email address on file. I wouldn't worry about an SS# until it's requested by the library as not everyone wants to share that casually.

Good luck!

Thanks Casey,

That makes sense. That was what I was concerned about! I don't want to know or hand out anyone else's SS# in this day and age.

P.S. I like your King of the World status!
