I got no info .. just going on the past 2 years. They didn't say anything last year until very late. Hope they still have the contest .. I've co-written 2 songs for it. lol

I was thinking of doing something similar to this but I didn't know there had been an actual contest. I was just thinking if I could find an artist that has a great pop voice and convince them to enter Canadian Idol, I could write some songs for them to sing in the competition If they didn't like the songs, they could always sing something else but hopefully, they would sing my songs. Alternatively, I could enter Canadian Idol myself and sing my own songs. It's a great idea to get publicity. I don't think my voice is good enough to win a contest but just making it through to a televised round would be enough to get exposure for my songwriting if not my singing talents. It's a great idea. Good luck with it. I'd love to hear your song. Thanks for the idea of looking up past winners on Youtube. It will be interesting research.
