Chromophone $99 worth it?

Chromaphone has always looked kind of interesting, but at $199 I have always passed on it. However, they've cut the price in half. At $99 it's tempting. Any 1st hand user reviews? Thumbs up/down?

I downloaded the demo (which is not exactly user friendly; it stops playing after several seconds and then continues after a couple of more seconds, and after 20 minutes, it shuts down and you need to reboot the program). But it does have some interesting sounds. I went through the plucked strings, the percussion, and some of the pad sounds before I timed out, but there are a lot more categories left to hear, and lots of patches within those categories. As I said, some of the sounds are very interesting and usable, but others may be less so.

The sounds appear capable of being tweaked in a variety of ways, so that's a plus.

As far as I can tell, it isn't multi-timbral, so you'll need load separate instances for more than one sound at a time. That's a drawback, but other programs like Alchemy are similarly structured.

Is it worth $99? I'm thinking about it.

I love this synth. Here are some videos I did on it, explaining some of the features:

Several other videos on specific aspects of Chromophone on my channel:

Definitely worth $99!

I had found the first one of your links and found it was very helpful.
I will most likely end up buying it.

I just bought Chromaphone and love it so far.

I do wish some of these boutique VSTs like Chromaphone and Alchemy and others were multi-timbral like Omnisphere and many others. It would add a whole lot of convenience to the production process.
