This is genius, I found this link on the reaper forum.
Sennheiser has a 4.7GB drum kit that showcases their mic on a drum kit. you choose between various mics and the kits powered by kontakt.
http://de-de.sennheiser.com/service-support/drummica
It appears only on the german page, however, so you might need to use google translator to get through the registration.
Here's the page from the reaper forum with some tips on how to get it installed, where to get the serial, etc..
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=125935
One tip I can provide is, if the first time it downloads, there something corrupt in it, don't delete it. download it a second time and unzip the one that was corrupt in the first download. chances are very slim it'll be corrupt in the same place.
You can check out the demos at the bottom of the sennheiser page for a demo, but I can tell you, the velocity layers and sample quality are awesome!
have fun!
Owen.

Sorry, Len. Someone from the reaper thread mentioned it didn't work for XP, should have mentioned that.
Just used it for a new piece I'm working on. The kick is kinda flubby for my tastes, but the snare, cymbals, hihat samples are crazy good. Really clean and crispy!
Haven't went into the different mics yet though.

that's interesting. its just a Kontakt instrument. if you have installed Kontakt instruments before it should work.
on mine is said "YOu need OSX 10.7 or 10.8" (mine is 10.6.8) but still let me install. I had to install an older version of the NI Service Center (which was easy off my backup drive) to license the product, as the latest version of the NI service center doesn't support osx 10.6.8
i know its all different on your machine being windows, but I mention because there may be a workaround like what I discovered.
good luck!

hmm, I might try again and install it manually or something. I clicked on the NI installer button and that's when it said it wouldn't install it, even though I already have Kontakt 5 player.

Len,
If you have access to a win7 comp, you can try installing it there. Then dump the library to a thumb drive and put it on your xp.
I had a 2nd step that did something in (the "application") in the native instruments folder though. Not sure if that was imprtant, maybe told NI to recognize the library maybe. Not sure.
Just an idea.

its a good sounding kit. obviously deeply sampled, and with all the mic choices. nice for free!

Thank you Ochaim, after downloading it a second time and unpacking the installer, the .exe file didn't work and the samples were still in the installer, I've decided I've spent too much time messing with it, and have convinced myself I don't want it afterall, lol!
