I have Cinematic Strings 2
To me they sound real nice, I just like the sound and ease of use
So do I take the plunge for these as well ? hmmmm very tempting
I guess the collecting is an ongoing process.
Anyway they look and sound great

Question: are these string patches playable (importable) in Logic Pro, or do they require a proprietary program?
Like Kontakt?

Well, every VI you buy is powered by some sort of Engine. Spectrasonics and Toontrack have their own engine.
Most VI's are powered by Kontakt, either the free or full version.
In this case (you can enter the link to the web site I sent in my original message) you can clearly read that this particular library is powered by the free version of Kontakt.

Thanks Alex.
I'm still learning Logic Pro and am leery of taking on more software just yet
Apparently its doable:

Not ready to take this step yet but I'll get there.
