Hi everyone,

I'm a VST junkie, and god knows I spend WAY too much money on all my instruments and FX. But Sound Toys is one of my favorites. They just released a new EQ plugin today, and they are giving it away for FREE until October 13th. No strings attached.

Just wanted to share the news. You can get it right on their main website: https://www.soundtoys.com

Enjoy!

Randon

On this same token, one of my other favorite FX companies has an awesome little plugin they are also giving away right now:

After having a whack at the Sie-Q, I believe it's something different/better than an EQ; it's a console channel/transformer with a parametric focus control, so you get to decide where the harmonic enhancement happens. Like Soundtoys' other plugins, it's extremely light on resources, yet still has that 'analog thing'. Way cool.

Finally installed Sie-Q after downloading the free version way back when. Yeah its a cool useable little plug in.

I like those fixed band EQs that give you a tip as to where you should be looking in general.

Like mojo said that saturation thingy too.

Depending on where in the frequency spectrum you decide to employ the saturation, you can get results similar to an exciter; on a bass instrument, it's not so different from Waves' MaxxBass, but that plugin doesn't have a parametric midrange. You can get a pretty hearty result by cutting mids while enhancing the top and bottom. Conversely, you can make the mids cut like crazy, without affecting the lows and highs, so much. Stellar plugin.
