Got gear recommend (say, via Amazon) for free-standing/stands for a pair of JBL 305s?
Currently, they're cluttering up my desktop space. Do's & Don'ts I should know about?
It's NOT a soundproof studio/room environment; just a space-saving question.

I had a pair just like the Ultimate Support MS-90 except that the base was solid with spikes. They were hollow and I filled them with beach sand. They worked great..I sold them later as I bought a studio desk with a raised shelf for monitors. The cons for me on these are they sat a little far from me placed beyond my desk and I could not adjust the height.'

You'll get the best bang for your buck by building your own. More mass is better, within reason; you don't want something that requires a hydraulic lift to move, in the event they ever need to move. It's nice if you can adjust the height, in the event that you can't adjust the height of the seat at the mix position. Leveling feet are a good idea; not all floors are level, nor all walls are plumb. (carpentry joke: they asked my dad how he knew his wife was true, he said he checked Mom out with a plumb bob.) Ethan Winer opines that you shouldn't worry about vibration transfer/coupling, cuz the monitors' cabinets should be rigid enough to prevent any such thing, but my stands were a Musician's Friend Stupid Deal Of The Day, so I have Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizers. A pile of common concrete blocks will do, in a pinch. If the stands weigh more than the cabinets, you should be fine.

Thanks for the comment, Mojo... but, honestly: a bit of TMI & just not my style. Currently, the 305s are sitting on some folded handtowels, as the only separation between them and the minimal desktop space available. It's not a sound issue I'm trying to resolve, just a space-saving (& less dust) by getting to put them off of the table top.

I wonder how many folks have tried suspending their monitors from the ceiling - like with cables - so there's no connection to the floor whatsoever.

I've seen a few of those, mostly from hi-fi vinyl fans trying to isolate their vibration-sensitive turntables from their massive speakers.
