East West player still glitchey on Mac?

I recently switched to a Mac from PC.

A couple years ago, I heard a lot of composers mention that EW's player was glitchey and crashed a lot etc. I don't know if they were on PC or Mac, but I recently read that East West products don't run that great on Mac.

Did they make a new player just for Mac?

I've gotten tempted by Hollywood Orchestra, either gold or diamond, with the Memorial Day sales. I guess I could start with gold and then upgrade to diamond later if I wanted to.

But I don't want a big headache if it isn't going to run well on Mac.

Also are Hollywood Orch's solo instruments considered on par with newer (?) libraries like 8dio? Not sure which is newer or what is considered most realistic currently.

Thanks for any thoughts.

There are some forum members here for sure who can answer some of your questions.

As important as the samples are, the user interface/instrument and the way it handles articulations are a top priority as well. I don't have a great deal of experience in this area but I do have Goliath on my mac and I suspect there could be better options out there.

I'm looking forward to some replies to your post.

Why not do compser cloud for a month or two and test it out. I would imagine it will be glitchy on anything less than 4core, 32ram machines, but I dont know for sure.

thanks kolstad. that's a good idea. I have 6 cores but plan to upgrade to at least 32 from 16.
