Looking for record player effects

I don't know what its called but I remember hearing it. When a record is played it spins from 0 to the playing bpm.

Does anyone know what thats called. It might be opposite of tape stop?

I'm thinking about trying to start a song with that sort of fx.

Thanks for any info. 8-)

Firstly I would make sure it doesn't make your song unlicensable...i.e. Do you hear it on any other songs in the types of shows you are targetting ? Whacky FX can be a bit of a no-no.

Other than that you can just automate a pitch shift plugin from say -12 cents to zero over a short space of time, or maybe the built in pitch shift in your DAW. You can also use it in conjunction with a tempo ramp up in your session.

Haha, I was just downloading a couple of VSTs for that last night. I have not properly tried them yet, I got: "Tapestop" and "Scratch-It", and I had already iZotope Vinyl. All free. If you figure out what works best, let me know. But I will need the stopping part. Vinyl is too slow there, but I think Tapestop lets you choose the speed, but the sound of it did not impress me which possibly had more to do with my own track than with the plugin.

Thanks! will check it out. got to try a free stuff see what works.

Thanks! actually would use the part of our track to do fx on. playing with a few ideas to bring in the groove. groove it the identifier of the song so want it to start right away in intro.
