Flac Files!

If you're sending a lot of WAV files back and forth, you might be relying on ftp sites like YouSendIt to do the heavy lifting of transferring massive files. That can suck up a lot of time--and money if you pay for the premium services.

But flac files are a cool option---they are a lossless way to convert your WAV data to a smaller file. Flac files cannot be played, they are simply a method of conversion for sending, then reconverting back to their original state later.

Here's a handy converter that will change just about any file format into another one...flac, WAV, MP3, ogg vorbis, etc: http://apps.foxtab.com/Audioconverter/ Best of all, it converts FAST. You almost wonder if it worked when you see it do it's thing.

I do a lot of internet collaborating, and this allows us to send huge WAVs by email as flacs---a 35 MB WAV file gets shrunk down to around 5 MB in flac form, then magically comes back to largeness when reconverted to WAV by my partner(s). So yeah, I just email them now...and no longer stay chained to my computer trying to send entire projects through YouSendIt.

Try it, you'll like it! :)
