Stumbled on a worthy Plugin ....and...It's...."Free"

It's called the FLUX bittersweet 2.
What does it do?
It takes any instrument...in particular..drum or guitar sounds...and works with attack and transients...in a way that smooths out or puts an edge on your tracks.
Great for smoothing out an acoustic guitar with too much high end pinging in the pick attacks...or adding articulation to a drum track.
basically...it adds sweetness or bitterness to a track depending on what your needing.
Also has a nice stereo sound to it if you click on that option.

Here's a review...I stumbled on this today while searching for plugins..so consider commenting on the guys site..I have no clue who he is...but he'll be wondering were the heck all these visits are coming from lol..

+1 The Flux Bittersweet is part of my go-to arsenal of plug-ins. It's a so called "transient designer" plug-in. I particularly love the smoothness setting. It's subtle, but in a very prominent way! Flux is a brilliant French company.

Yep, this one keeps coming up in this section of the forum, and for all the right reasons. :D

Just discovered Bittersweet meself, tried it out a bit...works great...can't wait to start really digging in with it.

While at that site I discovered another freebie. I found myself in a 'feeding frenzy' and got that one too. It's called the 'stereo tool' and does a lot to mess with the stereo imaging of a pair of tracks. I work a lot inside Ambient/Space music territory, so I'm thinking this is particularly useful...also considering I'm starting to experiment with Surround.

Watch out for Phase, keep checking things with the ol' mono button, but otherwise this could get interesting 8-)

Thanx for the tip!

Jordy

You'll wanna watch out for mono compatibility when using that stereo tool; it's just the old 'sum and difference' trick, like the "stereo wide" button on some old boomboxes. not terribly sophisticated, probably why it's free, but if it's useful, why not? :D

Yeah, really, it does some WACKY stuff with the Phase...could get a person in big trouble, not to mention potentially pissing off the mastering engineers! Almost gives me an earache sometimes! Pretty amazing what they're coming up with tho'
