Ukulele recommendations
Hi!
I'm looking to upgrade my ukulele. My current instrument isn't bad, but there are intonation issues, and I'm looking for a more serious long-term instrument. Does anyone have any recommendations? Maybe something in the $350 or cheaper range?
Thanks,
John Cimino

Re: Ukulele recommendations
Kala ukes are inexpensive and decent quality. They carry them at a store I teach at, "George's Music Space" in San Clemente Ca. who is also a Martin dealer BTW. I think Kala are owned by Godin (the company that sells Seagull and Simon & Patrick guitars). If you call George he'll most likely give you a great deal.
I know that was a plug for my buddy George, but he's a great guy running a little shop and he gives great deals!

Re: Ukulele recommendations
I don't own one myself but have been looking as well.
I do however own a classical guitar by Cordoba and it is simply an amazing instrument purchased at a more unbelieveable pricepoint. Beautiful craftsmanship...
So... with that said, I'm inclined to purchase my ukulele from Cordoba.

Re: Ukulele recommendations
I picked up a cheap Mahalo Tenor Uke model: UK320T for about $120 bucks from my local music store.
The store is run by my guitar tech (ex Maton factory). He set it up for me and it has been wonderful!

Re: Ukulele recommendations
I own a Bushman "Jenny" http://www.bushmanmusic.com/index.php?m ... ex&cPath=3 and really love it, only one I've owned so I can't really compare. One thing to be super careful with is humidity, as with any acoustic instrument, ukes are so light and dryness will take a toll on it real quick. My first uke cracked big time, I thought one of the kids had broke it
, but it ended up being that I had it hanging on a wall and an air vent was not far from it, doh! Bushman was so great to me, they kindly replaced it for free, and I had had it for over a year, it was really my fault and they didn't have too. I did get a long lecture though
anyways, great company and I highly recommend them!
