ANd my guitar/amp and bass are what I currently own. Addictive Drums and Stylus RMX for drums. Trying to write with an eye toward TV and Film. ANy opinions on whether these will fit the bill for most listings?

What do you compose IN to? What sort of DAW? Or do you record and sequence into the Yamaha MOX6? I know they come with Cubase AI... (that should work fine, for starters)

From the looks of things... you have everything a person needs to deliver "broadcast quality" provided you know how to maximize what you have. I noticed that the MOX6 has a 4 in-2 Out Audio/MIDI Interface. Does it have XLR inputs? If so, you're set!

Just to be clear... one can deliver excellent production using something as "simple" as Garageband or Cubase Lite (if you know what you're doing)... -- Andy

I record into Pro Tools. I'm happy I think with the acoustic sounds, i.e. pianos, strings, even the horns. I record into an Apogee Duet. I think what I am looking for are future suggestions to upgrade that make the included sounds almost irrelevant, i.e. the Stylus RMX and Addictive drums are my go to programs for drums now. Omnisphere will be my primary synth as opposed to the MOX. I'm not looking for slight improvements but dramatic upgrades. I've seen some gear suggestions on here. Think in terms of instrument upgrades, i.e. horns, both ensemble and solo. Strings, ditto ( I prefer my MOX to the Garritan samples I havtie, and the MOX to about anything that came in XPAND). Pianos. WHo rules the roost in their respective instruments. Feel free to suggest different libraries for different functions, i.e. cinematic vs pop strings....

I currently possess upwards of 200 libraries... I wouldn't know where to begin... There are so many options and the best thing to do is do what I did. Start by going to each and every one you can find (online) and use your own ears.

Bottom line... use YOUR ears.
