Taxi Dudes of the world !!

Guys, I have to tell you about this new tool I got. If you are a composer who regularly uses multi computers for processing orchestras or mutli virtual instrument host - slave machines, then this could be for you too.

I have a 3 computer setup. the 2 "Slave" computers are hosting VSL Ensemble Pro. I used to have 3 keyboards/mice on the desktops or on the floor.

Then I went to Wireless keyboard mice solutions, but needed to go through batteries a lot.

THEN I found this: Perixx PERIBOARD-717. It is a hand-held keyboard/track pad solution. It is advertised as a home PC cinema remote, but it works just as well for other purposes.

NOW, I have a hand-held keyboard/mouse (a little larger than a blackberry device) which sits neatly on my keyboard controller and I can navigate certain parts of my Slave computers without having to find my bulky old keyboards and choose the right mouse on my desk etc. Also, it is wireless (plug n play - and I MEAN plug n play) and has a small USB cable to charge it when you are not working.

There is an amazon link here for anyone who is interested. I'm working on doing a demo video for YouTube as well so push me to finish it :-)

Yes, I have that setup also with Vienna PRO. hosing a laptop and an ultra-book I run most of my memory-eating libraries through. My main machine is an older XP-PC I have a UAD-card in there for Auudio-effects and recording audio.
It works so great and is affordable. My PC used to stop during playback when I had too much stuff running. No more problems with that!!!

get it.

Hi Walt,

yeah, in today's market it is a lot simpler to have one "simple" machine that will run most of your MIDI and CC whilst other "harder" machines run all the memory intensive libraries.

All good stuff....
