Hey all,
I am liking this new forum and cool to see everyone's areas so far. Where the magic happens as they say. I am happy to participate.
This is a recent pic of my set up.
I have a few mics (2 x shure 58's 1x 57) but my favorite for vocals and most acoustic instruments is my Audio-Technica 4040 Cardiod Condensor. I have a Class A XMAX Pre amp and I record mostly real instruments but when needed, the expansion packs for Toontrack Studio Drummer 2 including Indie Folk and anything Steven Slate are pretty incredible sounding in my opinion. Otherwise I am working and manipulating samples in my DAW. I work in Logic X. I use YSM 5's for monitor's and a Audiobox 22vsl interface. I recently bought and upgraded a Macbook pro so I can be more mobile and record on the road.
I use either my Taylor T5 or a Gibson J45 for all my guitar work and a Yamaha P105 piano. I also recently added a washboard tie, a jews harp and the spoons to my toolbox along with other fun swampy percussion in the last year. Enjoying the journey!
Looking forward to seeing all of your set ups! Oh and Michael that includes you! Post one of those early 70's pics with Neil Young!
