Hey all!

I thought I would share some pictures of my current music studio / band rehearsal/jam room.
The only treatment is acoustical ceiling tiles, some foam treatment and also some felt on some walls.

Things are a bit messy as I am cleaning things out as part of making some major changes with my project studio.

Some friends from my local cubase club have offered to help me build out a more professional project studio so these pictures represent and end of an era for me. I am starting to really look forward to having a more ergonomic, better organized and inspiring place to work.

My Daws are cubase 8.5 pro and ableton live standard
My interface is a presonus 16.4.2 studio live

I do not have a ton of plug-ins but some current favorite plug-ins of mine are
Final Mix variety of products
PSP Audioware - various
Slate Digital - VPC and VMR

I have collected a bunch of mics over the years.
Mics currently being used
DRUMS
Sennheiser e604 tom mics #1-#3
AKG D110 Tom #4 (My old kick microphone)
AKG C2000B Tom #5 (My 1st quality mic and old vocal microphone!)
AKG D112 Kick Drum
Gauge ECM 84 Overheads
ECM 87 Vocals and Drum Room mic
AKG D220 hi-hat
Shure SM57 Snare
VOCAL
Shure Beta58a Vocal mics for practice
ECM 87 vocal recording
Percussion
ECM ECM84

My out board gear is limited to my Gauge pre-amp MP1076 which I use for guitar, bass and vocal tracking.

Thanks!

Rich

That looks like a fun room! Is it in a basement?

Thanks Paulie!

Yes it really is a fun room, but seeing some of the project studios in St Louis and now this page has inspired me to go the next level with y project studio.

Also, yes it is in a basement and currently is one open space stretching the length of the house, but there is a back room that will be added to the mix, so the new studio will have an inverted L shape. The will be three sections.
The lounge/unplugged jam area.
The control room/ writing station
and then the drum room / rehearsal/jam room which will take up the entire short section of the L

It will take a bit of time to accomplish but I am hoping for something nice and professional when it is completed
and a place I can't wait to spend time in and have musicians over to enjoy it with.

That sounds like an awesome plan. I grew up with a full house length basement in Connecticut, but basements don't exist here in Texas for some reason (I've heard many reasons). Can't wait to see the finished product!

Is that a Ludwig Rocker drum kit?

Hey Paulie,

The large black floor tom is from a Ludwig Vistalite Set. The rest of the set is a Pearl Export Set.

I also have a small set to play out with which is a 3 tom Gretsch set with birch wood and sounds amazing and hope to record on
it on day too.

Basements have their advantages, but a window view like you have is pretty sweet!

Cheers
