Am I the only one here recording on an iPad?

Just curious. It makes fairly respectable recordings, and has even gotten me a few forwards.

I'm using an iPad 4 with Auria Pro recording app. I've been using Sampletank and some other apps for sounds, in addition to real guitars and bass.

Anyone willing share some thoughts on this topic, please do. Preferably someone using (or has used) a similar set up. I look forward to chatting.

Thanks

Don

Hey I just saw this.

Yes I write and record on an iPad.
I have recorded and submitted to a number listings with it.
I use it all the time on the road / vacation etc or wherever as a sketch pad, rough ideas to finished
songs.

Because I use Cubase as my DAW i installed Cubasis as I can export projects directly in to Cubase.

I use:
i Pad DAW:
Cubasis,

Synths / Drum Machines:
Animoog, Moog Model 15, Poison 202 and Groove Rider ( Jim Audio), Axon 2, Korg Mono/Poly, Arturia SEM,
SynthMaster One, Drum Perfect Pro.

Add on fx plugins:
Rough Rider, Fuzz plus and the WAVES Audio Track Suite.

Utilities:
Audio Share, Audio Bus and Audio Converter.

D.

Thanks for your response, David. I was beginning to feel like a Luddite with the lack of responses to my post. Now I feel less so.
Thanks

Don

It seems like it's the ultimate in portability. Do you use any kind of hardware controller for the iPad (keyboard etc) or just stick inside the box (iPad)?

I use an iRig keyboard, and the iPad is parked in a Focusrite iTrack Dock where mics and guitars can be plugged in.

It's a sweet little set up.

Hi Rob,

I don not use any keyboard controllers.
I have recorded rough vocal/acoustic guitar using the ipads built in mic.
Kinda funny how well it worked.

If I was to buy a controller I would consider a bluetooth option like Roli Seaboard.

David.

Do you also record on a desktop, or do you use the iPad exclusively?

Hi Anthony

I just record on the iPad. No desktop, though I wish I could afford that kind of set up.

Thanks

Don

I have used the iPad for recording interviews and stuff on the go. Very handy and easy to use. Its too small to work on a lot for me, so I prefer a desktop for daily use. But Im old, so if people dont mind the real estate, an iPad is as good a harddisk as anything to record onto. Extremely fast and easy to use.

Understood. Iā€™m old, too. But I really enjoy creating cues on the iPad. Nothing fancy, no singing, no guitars. Just synths. šŸ˜‰
