I attended my third Road Rally this year. While I was there, I had a nice chat with an international publisher after a workshop that I attended. He offered to take a CD from me if I had one. Of course, I gave him one (along with my business card).
I thought to myself afterwards, I wonder if they still listen to CDs or they end up in a plastic bag with many others under the front seat of the car or in an office somewhere. Well, I got an e-mail from the publishing company about three weeks after the Rally. They selected six tracks from the CD that they wanted to sign. I was able to sign all six with them.
I had a similar situation at the 2011 Rally when a publisher/panelist signed one of my songs to be on a New Age compilation CD that still receives a lot of airplay worldwide.

Focus on using your strengths and collaborate with others that can fill in the gaps you are missing.
