Been a while, it takes a while!

Hi Folks! Haven't been around much, my day gig ramped up and my forum time has been curtailed. But I've still been working on my music full steam ahead!
Here's a little story that illustrates the old but true adages that "things tend to move slowly in this business" and "patience and write, pitch, forget, repeat" still ring true.
Some old timers here may remember that I landed a placement on True Blood back in season 1. This was 2009. The placement was for a piece I wrote in 2007 or 2008 for a completely different pitch, but eventually it ended up in the hands of the supervisor for True Blood in 2009. This placement, BTW, was the result of a relationship started with a Taxi forward sometime in 2006.
Yesterday (Wednesday the 25th of February 2015), out of the blue, I get an e-mail directly from the True Blood music supervisor wanting to use the same piece in an indie film. He had the piece but he couldn't remember where it came from. I immediately put the publisher in touch with him and we are waiting for a contract to come over. There is a fairly decent sync fee associated with this placement as well!
So here's a piece I wrote 7 or 8 years ago still out there working for me.
For those who get discouraged when you get a forward and don't hear back from the listing party, keep in mind that it's highly likely that even though they didn't choose your piece for that specific opportunity, it's probably in their iTunes library categorized so they can find it again. Sometimes you'll hear back months or even years later about that track. Sometimes you never hear back but that's really the nature of the business.
Hang in there and keep writing and pitching!
