I'm happy to say that a Christmas song written by me and John Lewitt and produced by Marcus Cohen just got accepted by a well known Taxi friendly Film/TV library in LA.
This is a result of networking on the forum and at the rally and building relationships with other members. It's all about that!!
In Nov, 2016, John Lewitt posted a song (in P2P) he was working on for a Christmas listing called "True Believer". I thought it had a great musical hook but had suggestions regarding the lyrics and we both knew it needed a contemporary treatment. John and I started talking about my suggestions on the forum. From there, I took it off-line and asked John if we could collaborate on it and get it produced by someone who could make it sound contemporary. So John and I worked on lyric re-writes until we got it into shape. "True Believer" became "Believe In Santa".
We spent a lot of time going through a la ideas, listening to dozens of more contemporary Christmas songs.
Then we needed the right producer to take it from old fart guys to modern a la Britney, Mariah, Sabrina Carpenter, etc. And... We engaged none other than the multi-talented Marcus Cohen. Marcus produced it and hired in a kick ass female vocalist named Alaina. We knew when we heard it we had a winner!
So this came about because of meeting at the rally, peer to peer reviewing on the forum, networking, etc., etc., etc. The rest is history.
Remember when it comes to your music. Sometimes it takes a village... A Taxi village.
This is the original thread from when John posted the song:

And if you'd like to listen to the final version: https://soundcloud.com/caseyh/believe-i ... on/s-3G6wE
Thank you Taxi for creating this awesome community of amazing people!
Best,
Casey
