2,040 Usages on ONE SONG

Just a note of encouragement for those who sometimes feel like their songs or cues have been gathering dust on a library/publisher's shelf.
I was surprised when I opened my ASCAP royalty statement yesterday to find that one of my cues/songs had been used 2,040 times on over 40 networks for a promo campaign (in 2017/2018). Yeah, and each instance paid.
This cue had been written back in 2009 and signed with an active publisher/library. For almost 10 years it has gathered dust.... and then, suddenly, this last year it decides to shake off the dust and start dancing again
We never know exactly when or where our creations are going to find a home. All we can do is create, submit, forget and repeat. If we do this consistently over a number of years, good things will happen.... and those good things will start adding up.
Anywayz.... keep writing, keep submitting, keep getting better.... that... is the recipe.
I should also add that this "deal" came from a publisher connection made at the 2008 Taxi Road Rally. So it should be noted that attending the Taxi Road Rally is indeed a integral part of the success recipe.
Now go get back to work
