This song " I Gotta Have it" was part of TAXI's Top Ten in March 2020 and has been forwarded a bunch.

Got an email today from a "Critical"

TAXI friendly library that wants to sign it non-exclusive!

Thanks Kali J for doing an awesome job on the vocals! Thanks TAXI for giving my song some light! Oh, one interesting thing about it. It used to have a 10 second intro but TAXI screeners were saying the song sounded "dated". I cut the intro completely off and immediately started getting forwarded! Funny what happens when you take pro advice to heart!

Big congrats on this one, John. Been a fan of the no-Intro thing... and yours is a great example of how effective it can be.

FWIW: Well... not so much that it doesn't work - more like,
it's just not necessary, and doesn't add anything to the song... not meaning to be too word-nerdy.

I think it's always a good exercise, when crafting a lyric, or considering the content of a mix -
what can I take out, that isn't essential to the story...
and what can be carved away without hurting the 'ear-candy' that keeps people interested in continuing to listen?

Congrats John! I love the energy of that song and it is really well sung and produced. You should be proud that it is on Taxi's top 10 list. And you got a deal out of it to boot. Excellent! I will check out Peer to Peer to listen to your new song. It sounds interesting if you are delving into a new genre ?

That song on Peer to Peer is a new genre for me. Just feeling my way around and already have gotten some well thought-out comments.
