First BMI royalty check for Film/TV placement

Post by LamarPecorino » Fri Jun 19, 2020 3:11 pm

I received my first BMI royalty check for a Film/TX placement. "I'm A Winner" was written almost 40 years ago. While browsing in a Fox Hills Mall bookstore, I saw a gambling-themed magazine with a photo of Frank Sinatra on its cover. I believe that the caption said, "Winner Takes All". That became the inspiration for "I'm A Winner".

Saying "Thank You" to Michael and the Taxi staff seems insufficient. Without Taxi, this song would not have been heard in places like Norway and Sweden. I know that it has been heard there as well as other countries because of my BMI statement. Thank you Taxi for everything!

P.S. "I'm A Winner" got returned twice before it got forwarded.
Onward and upward!
