Hey everybody
Just checked tunesat this morn, and lo and behold my first detection!! A lofi hiphop track of mine got used on a German news show!
The deal came through Taxi for a chillhop listing last July, and the library just released the album in December.
Super excited about this, not my first placement, but it is my first international placement, and is also my first lofi hiphop placement!
The track they used is actually the first lofi hiphop track I ever created, and I recorded it with my brother playing guitar at my studio (when I still had it, it was actually our last month there after almost 20 yrs.. so a sad moment turned into a bright one as he and I are really happy about this).
Initially it was returned, I got mad and wrote an email to the head screener (my early days of just not understanding Taxi and the way it works/what I have to do). But I reworked parts of it and got it forwarded!
So I have to thank Taxi for this, for the connection, for the initial listing which jumpstarted my 'artist' direction into focusing on lofi hiphop and for the encouragement and guidance given by the staff and taxi tv episodes.

Does Tunesat pick up placements retroactively? I've just started adding my published tracks to it and am wondering if it'll just ping detections going forward.

Also, does anyone know if the mastering of a track matters with Tunesat's ability to make detections? I've mostly got unmastered versions of my tracks on my hard drive, as the Music Libraries do their own mastering. If I upload my unmastered tracks to Tunesat (which is what I've been doing), will it still recognise when the mastered version from a ML gets used, or will the properties of the wav file be too different?

It does not work retroactively. And I'm not sure about the mastering, my guess is it would pick it up, but lately I've heard a lot of people saying Tunesat isn't detecting a bunch of usages, I know it didn't pick up one I had in a TV show last summer, so you never really know.
