2024 Report

Hey everyone-
I thought I'd chime in and let you all know how things went for me this year.
First of all, I still love writing production music! Yay!
Second, (sigh) - I am still slowwww in production-Matt Vanderbough would crack up if he knew exactly HOW slow... (ha ha) and a good bunch of my material is still waiting for release.
Now for the interesting stuff-
Placement highlights:
My Royalty Income went up 65% from last year
I earned 50% more in sync fees
I've had some JUICY placements- what I mean is some of my music was on serious Bad Ass documentaries!
One about Saddam Hussein -"Saddam's Danish Hostages" so I guess I can write the dark, ominous moods pretty well
Another was on NewsNation -a documentary- "Clinton: Portrait of a Presidency"
This just happened and it sounds like a bespoke-written segment if you ask me. The editors played it pretty loud (Yes!) and they highlighted certain elements by raising the volume at opportune times. In this case talking about African Civil War and Rwandan genocide, WOW my music worked well for that. Pretty fun.
Then, my music landed on Trinity Broadcasting Network, which evidently is a big deal, because it is so HUGE.
LIVE in Jerusalem THREE times- one about about 1st Century Synagogues, and another a live exploration of the Jesus's tomb-
another during a discussion and visitation of Temple Mount- and Jesus's Crucifixion
each of three played the arrangements all the way through!
And, again, I think MAYBE my titles helped out-for example The Crucifixion segment used "Cry of the Arabian Desert"
I am very happy that I've now had three placements of some of my Crime Music (not thru Taxi) - I was waiting for that to happen for the last 2 years
One more cool thing-I had a Radio Placement in the UK, which they usually pay pennies, or a few bucks- this one paid $40- so that is great
These successes-All except one of my introductions-direct or indirect- to Music Catalogues were through Taxi- so thank you again Michael! I definitely wouldn't have any of this fun without your wonderful idea to help us all figure out how to do this.
Happy New Year!
