First Deal!

I'm excited to say that I just found out to day that a publishing company is signing one of my songs for the first time! It was only indirectly through TAXI (I had a couple of songs forwarded to them, checked out their site, realized they accepted unsolicited submissions, had 8 rejected in the last two weeks and then, bam!, they picked one up...), but I thought I'd share anyway. And I've only been a member/been submitting songs to libraries for a little over two months! I actually got to meet the head of the company at the rally, as well, so I'm really excited to be working with them. Also just wanted to say that I had a really good time at the Rally. It was great to get to meet Matt, Martin, Dave, and others from the "Dot" group, and it was definitely an inspiring weekend. It was also quite an honor to get to speak with Kara DioGuardi, Brian Howe, Andy Dodd and Adam Watts, and Mike Elizondo. What a great weekend

What a great weekend Hey!That's pretty cool and a great example of the "gently pushing yourself forward" (Traveling Ed) concept. Also a good example of how things work. Nothing... nothing... nothing... and then something breaks. I noticed you didn't sit around waiting for the results of your efforts. I wonder if there's a lesson in there somewhere?

Thanks guys! And Dave, yeah, I'm trying to be as pro-active as I can...I definitely have a short attention span, so if there's something I can do to even slightly increase the chances of something happening a bit quicker, I don't have any problem doing it!Here's a link to the song. I originally wrote it for a TAXI listing a little over a month ago for a company looking for "non-explicit songs about sex" Needless to say, it was rejected for that, and then rejected for another listing I submitted it to. So, sometimes it definitely is just pushing something until the right opportunity comes along!"Make You Happen"http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=1Dan
