My First Ad Placement

Had my song "Let's Go" forwarded about a month ago for an ad listing looking for upbeat Indie Pop songs for a regional Pacific Northwest restaurant chain's commercial (wow, that's a mouthful). Got contacted the Monday morning after the forward. Said they'd love to use it in their ad campaign for Taco Time that will begin running in July in Seattle! Sweetness!!!! This one worked pretty fast. Had the money sent to my Paypal account this weekend. But I'm sure my work is not done. They will start pre-production this week and I'm sure there will be some changes thrown my way.
I also have been introduced into the world of "stems" in a hurry. They wanted a WAV file of each track separately, their main focus being on the percussion and drums. So I sent them each track as I had them originally mixed, and each track dry, panned in the center. I also had to break up my drum parts and send those separately. Which wasn't too bad because they were midi drums.
It's not a gigantic pay day, but it's enough to pay for about 400 Taxi submissions
Not too shabby. And if it runs for an extra 13 weeks there will be more "cheese" coming my way!!!!
I would not have landed this if it wasn't for everything I've learned from and Taxi and from you guys on the forum. This has been pretty freakin' exciting
