Hi all...
Terry B here...a longtime Taxi member who doesn't post a lot on the Forums. With my crazy schedule, I try to use my spare time writing and recording. Anyway, just wanted to give a great big THANK YOU to Taxi; directly or indirectly, all of my musical success in the past 6 or 7 tears can be traced back to you.
It started way back in 2003...my first Road Rally! In a story similar to many others I've read, one of my CD's wound up in the hands of a music publisher/library owner...and just when I had almost forgot about it...TWO years later, he contacted me and wanted to sign a couple of my songs. A few months later, I signed a few more.
Well, that connection, pretty much the first connection I made at the Rally, has been responsible for SO many placements...it's crazy! The very first song he signed was on 14 different CBS promos! (2006) All big shows of the year, like Cold Case, Ghost Whisperer, Jericho (remember that one?) Without a Trace, etc. Every quarter since 2006, I've had placements from him...some big, some small.
Forward to 2007/2008...I really started writing a lot more to expand my catalog...more Taxi subs...the whole deal...(Loved the Matt Hirt vids on uTube!!) and, you know the story...it started paying off, little by little.
More recently, lots of new placements...including American Restoration (2)...Say Yes To The Dress....How Do I Look (same cue 12 episodes) American Stuffers, Too Cute...True Hollywood Story (2) Kimora..Life In The Fab Lane (2) and on and on.....
All of this is so much fun, and it keeps me playing music, which is the main thing. I do it all on a part-time basis...and I marvel at the guys and gals (you know who you are) who have been able to turn this into a full-time career! I'd love to be in it full-time...but since my job at a major Northeastern College means free tuition for the kids, I staying put!
Sorry to ramble, but thanks so much Taxi!!! You let me keep writing and recording...and Michael, your organization means the world to me. Member for life!
