Renewal deadline?

I'm up for my first Taxi renewal. I've received the letter in the mail that says "Your membership ends today", but when looking at my account online it says my membership is good until March 8, 2016. Is membership tied to the calendar year, or the anniversary of your original signup date? Funds are a little tight this month (busted pipe in my house foundation), so if I can wait until March to renew that would be awesome. Clarification please?
