Recommendations for Song Demo Producers

Post by jeffchertoff » Tue Feb 15, 2022 12:17 pm

I am just beginning to write songs and have recorded my music on my phone.A consistent comment on the listings feedback is to improve the quality of the performance.I am seeking to find a producer for hire to produce a song demo. The producer(or studio) should ideally be easy to work with and reasonable in price. I live in NYC so it might make sense to find a local producer, but I'm not really sure if its necessary and I'm be curious for your thoughts too.Thank you.

Hi Jeff
I know some demo services but they are fairly pricey. Some Taxi members will produce as work for hire for a lot less or do it as a co-write. But before we go there, it's important to make sure the SONG itself is really ready for demo-- melody, hook, lyrics, etc. A lot of songwriters jump to pay for demos too soon, before the song is there.

One thing you could do is send in a rough demo for a Taxi Custom Critique for $20. Let them know you are only interested in the SONGWRITING and include any questions.

You could post a link to your song and the lyrics in peer to peer on this forum for feedback, asking if it's ready to be produced. If you don't want to share it publicly, feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to give you my thoughts, just one person's opinion.

Best,
:D Casey

I have sent quite a few tracks for a Taxi Custom Critique and I agree with Casey's suggestion for you to send your song to them. In my experience, the custom critiques are excellent value, far more so than the assessments for standard submissions. Even if you learn only one thing, that represents progress.
Cheers
Michael
