Wahay - first forward!! Holiday Instrumental
I joined TAXI at the end of September and have submitted about 6 tracks so far, all of them returned. However this morning I woke up to my first forward!! Very pleased, and slightly relieved that maybe I actually do have some idea of what I'm doing here!
Here's the brief:
ORGANIC-Sounding HOLIDAY INSTRUMENTALS are needed for a TV Commercial by an extremely active Music Licensing Company with a very successful track record of placements in Film, TV, and Commercials.
Quoting the Company: "We're looking to steer away from Instrumentals with an overtly Holiday feel. While we're open to ideas that have a slight Holiday tinge to them, nothing should be hitting you over the head with horns and bells – however, it should still help express the overall feeling of the holiday spirit, joy, and connection. Tracks should feel organic, genuine, candid, intimate, simple, and natural to help compliment the humanity of the spot. They should lean on the sparse side to leave room for the sound design elements. We are open to ideas that are more fun and playful as well as emotional and uplifting options." Please submit well-composed Instrumentals that convey a subtle, yet warm, and fuzzy Holiday feel and vibe. Your submissions should have heartfelt melodies, minimalist arrangements, and polished productions. Organic instrumentation in the general wheelhouse of the references will work best for this request – and please stay away from heavy uses of typical holiday instruments like sleigh bells and tubular bells.
And here's what I wrote: https://www.taxi.com/members/Iz17J_nAS7 ... e-heart-is
Now what? Wait to hear from the library? Write more like this? Onwards!

Congratulations David, now you took the 2nd door. (first was to submit the track). Next door is the library, then the supervisors, then the editors. Good luck, just keep on pitching, be patient and everything will be alright.

Ha ha.... Thanks Rolf!
Yes, I've seen plenty messages of the "write, submit, forget...." variety! I'm not getting too carried away just yet!
Thanks for your message!
