What is this forum?

I see we have something new… but old, by popular request. What is it for? Songs tossed away by the lyricist maybe?

hi, CE. These lyrics and songs are mine. Taxi was kind enough to give me my own page back in 2004. I'm not as active as I once was but I definitely appreciate still having the page. It's of great use to me with collaborators. I've got a few indie cuts coming out and when they do. I'll post links here. What's on here has not been discarded. Thanks for asking. :)

Hey Mark
If I recall correctly, Robert George (aka Couch Grouch) is a country songwriter (lyrics) and not involved in pitching Film/TV music. We go back like 17 years to the very early days of this Taxi forum. Not everything is music is about Film/TV. I enjoy his lyrics and even if they are not Film/TV oriented, there is always something to learn from good lyric writing.

Best,
:D Casey

I think I've answered this question before, and to the same person. I don't pitch to tv/movies because I have no interest in what passes for "music" in modern programs or motion pictures. It sounds more like computerized sound marshmallows than music. If you listen to Beast vs. Man on the Jaws soundtrack, you'll hear a great piece of music. I'm not sure anything like it will be accompany a scene in a 2022 film.

I do have three indie cuts coming out this year. I'll post links when they're released. I appreciate your interest in my career.

thanks, Casey. :)

So why your own dedicated SubForum on a site that is primarily geared towards something which you seem to hold in great disdain ?

Wasn't TAXI originally about artist pitches mostly in the country genre? So, that would be why, no?
It was artist pitches for all sorts of genres....but then , wouldn't tons of tother people have their own sub forum ? I genuinely thought this was a catchall forum for Taxi members who wrote lyrics to be peer reviewed for Listings.

That is under "Lyrics Lovers". :)
I don't browse the categories, I just have a shortcut set to new posts

I've been on this forum since it's inception around 2004. Couch Grouch used to post a lot of his lyrics. Most of us enjoyed them a lot! I know I did! :D To keep them all in one place, Taxi gave him his own forum on here. It was all fun and friendly. 8-) I don't recall there ever being negativity here about it until recently.

I'm not sure what the problem is. If someone isn't interested in reading these, don't read them. We all read the posts that interest us and scroll past the others.

:D Casey
