what kind of Instrumentals for Y181226TV? INSTRUMENTALS or INSTRUMENTAL CUES by SEASONED FILM and TV COMPOSERS

Post by jaywilliams » Tue Dec 18, 2018 10:06 am

hi guys, hoping you can help me make sense out of this new listing with a tight deadline:

----
#Y181226TV

INSTRUMENTALS or INSTRUMENTAL CUES by SEASONED FILM and TV COMPOSERS are needed by a Leading Company that just started a new Music Publishing and Licensing Division.

The company is open to virtually any Film and TV styles including Dramedy, Urban Dramedy, Tension, Cinematic Orchestral, World Music, Dark and Moody Drones, Hybrid Trailer Style, etc., etc., etc.

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals or Instrumental Cues that could work well in a variety of media like (but not limited to) Film, TV, Documentaries, and Commercials. If you are submitting an Instrumental Cue, your submission should follow a standard Cue format (build your Cue around a central melodic idea, add and subtract layers of instrumentation as your Cue progresses to give it forward momentum and a sense of dynamics.)
----

I've seen enough listings for CUES to understand what they may be after for this listing.

But I haven't seen any listings yet about Instrumentals that aren't CUES.

What kinds of tracks are they looking for for a listing like this?

Literally ANY kind of instrumental song?

No way, right?

H E L P P P P P P P

M E E E E E E

thanks!

Jay

Hey Jay,

Yes....any film or tv instrumental!

BUT they have got to be extremely good...... it seems pretty high bar....
It looks like the library is looking to add new composers to their roster of composers.

Thanks Tim.

In my other post you suggested I A/B test against the example tracks, but as you noticed this one doesn't have example tracks to reference.

I have to give this one a little more thought, no sense in burning a fiver on tracks that won't fit!

Hi Jay,

Yes I see there are no examples.....
But since they are looking for many different styles, just listen to the examples
from some other listings.....
Just try to make your tracks sound like any examples you choose...
Same amount of bass, same volume... EVERYTHING!

That doesn't mean copy the example.... but make sure your track could be played
right after the example and it would not stand out as being not as good... in any aspect.

If the drums are big and pounding....yours should be big and pounding....
If the bass is huge...make yours huge...
If you use strings.... emulate the nuances heard in any examples...make them sound real.

And don't ever say.... well, I guess that's good enough...
It's better to make a few great tracks then a bunch of pretty good tracks.

My 2 cents worth...good luck!
Tim
