Dear Songwriters, Artists, and Composers,

Our viewers have always loved our "A&R Hot Seat" episodes! Here's why: by judging music to see if their opinions line up with TAXI's A&R staff, our members get to fine tune their "industry ears." They LOVE how it helps them listen to their own music more critically!

Members have also told me that these episodes build confidence in TAXI's A&R team when they see that the screeners' decisions are very much on-target!

Here's the Listing we're going to be listening for...
TAXI Listing # S231115CH

ORIGINAL, CHRISTMAS ROCK SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an A-List Music Publisher for Film and TV sync licensing.

This Publisher is looking for a Wide Range of Mid-to-Up-tempo Songs in the general ballpark of the following references (and others like them):

"Xmas Time Of The Year" by Green Day

"Groovy Xmas" by The Linda Lindas

"I Believe In Father Christmas" by U2

NOTE: The client is open to material from any era. Contemporary Songs, as well as recently recorded/Retro-sounding and Vintage recordings are all fair game for this request!

Please send in original, Christmas Rock Songs with great energy and a festive sound and vibe! Memorable melodies, catchy choruses, engaging rhythms, and well-crafted, Christmas-themed lyrics are all needed for this pitch. Rock instrumentation that's in the general ballpark of the references will work best (including some Christmas-y elements like tubular bells or sleigh bells could help make your Songs sound more appealing). Please make sure your productions are polished, and that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high quality and not dated-sounding. Compelling Male or Female vocals are the way to go.

The Company pays you upfront for the Master Rights and the Publisher’s share of the Copyright, and you keep the Writer’s Share and earn income from performance royalties paid by your Performing Rights Organization. Win-win! This Company often averages several placements per week, and many of those are TAXI members who’ve been signed with them because they submitted to a listing like this! Dozens of TAXI members have signed buyout deals with this company. Several have even received upfront checks for $10,000 to $15,000 (or more!). Deal sizes and buyout amounts vary depending on the quantity and quality of the Songs signed.

Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed. Your name needs to be on the Copyright. Your Songs need to be original Compositions (no covers), and you need to own or control the Copyright and Master Recordings to submit for this pitch. DO NOT SUBMIT FOR FRIENDS!

Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. Please include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023. TAXI # S231115CH
