Which to Buy First?

Hey Fellow Musicians,

Should I post this question in the studio section or here? -Not sure.

I'm contemplating an initial upgrade to my home studio. Please opine about whether or not I should pay for ADPTR for use with Garageband -OR- invest in Logic Pro first. Both probably will not happen at the same time.

Do you mean the Metric A/B plugin by ADPTR Audio ? If so that's an excellent plugin and a key weapon in your arsenal to be able to compare your tracks against the references.

I've not seen Garageband for about a decade but I gather it's pretty feature packed nowadays - It's way better than what we had in the 90s and early 2000's so if you can't make liseceable music with Garageband I doubt that Logic Pro is going to help you.

So I would say if you're not getting loads of forwards and signing music to libraries that Metric A/B is a better tool to help you to get your music up to broadcast quality, and the extra functionality of Logic Pro would be worth getting later when you've outgrown any limititations of Garageband.

Yeah, Metric A/B. I'm a decent musician (if I do say so myself), but sound engineering is new to me. Your logic is sound, Dude ; I appreciate it.

Upgrade to Logic, no brainer. Garage Band is a great start, but Logic is Garage Band on steroids... the Barry Bonds/Mark McGuire kind.
