Long ago there was a soft sampler called Independence Free by Yellow Tools. It was really intuitive and I used it a lot. Fast forward to now and it looks like Magix bought them. I might try them again. One thing I liked is they gave you like a multi GB library for free too.
That's what I have, the $65 one. they have 4 versions, the free, and three others

The free gives you a library, but it's a player only, the others unlock the mapping etc., and the more pricey versions have more libraries.

Oh cool. I wondered what happened to those guys. $65 isn't bad at all. I think I'll check it out.

Thanks again, Len!

I really don't like kontakt drum libraries... but you can load different drums instruments if that instrument is an official Kontakt Player Library, is the only thing that I actually like, but it depends on the free versions as well

Have you tried the Abbey Road drum library series? https://www.native-instruments.com/en/p ... ete/drums/ I bought Modern Drummer and liked it so much I bought 80s Drummer, and then Studio Drummer. I started off in music as a drummer, so I might be looking for different features and sounds than others. NI has a cool video on how they sampled their drums, and like I said, I really like them - FYI
