Wasn't it Sean Connery playing a baroque styled keyboardsolo on "In My Life"?Andy White played drums on "Love Me Do" (Ringoplayed the tambourine!) But, Ringo was pissed offabout it and later recorded it with him on drums. That Ringo name is hot, ain't it? !

I don't know Casey, I think we have to bow to Katy as the expert on this. Maybe we can get her to come up with a name scale for us. Like a 0 - 10 with Drew=0 and Ringo=10.I think Casey should rate higher than Rock (5.nothin?) maybe even a 9.Ringo

Hmmm... I think I'd have to go with "DrewbieDooBeDoo".It's got a nice ring(o) to it, no? I also like "BeBobalooa".Both 10's in my book!

Hey...leave me out of the ratings. If you knew how I came up with the name...you would laugh. Does anybody have a story on how Ringo came up with the beat on "Come together"?

Who knows? It may be that George Martin was lessinvolved prior to this recording (?) But, here's a littleditty on the actual drumming:Re: Abbey Road, "Come Together" The album kicks off with Ringo's most divergent drum part ever - it doesn't even resemble the Merseybeat! "Come Together" finds him playing a couple quick crashes, four sixteenth-notes on the hi-hat, and a fill around all three toms - just under the opening riff. The verse features a syncopated floor tom leading into a lone kick drum on the beats during the end couplet, and the chorus introduces a snare drum for the first time. There is also a terrific fill that comes unexpectedly right before the solo - Tim Riley says it takes his breath away, which is a good description of how surprising it is." (Steve and Abe)

CaseyFrom my fab, fave rave book:Friday, October 22, 1965: "First task of the day was to superimpose an instrumental break onto the previously recorded 'In My Life'. But using what instrument? One of the keyboard types certainly, with George Martin playing. The tape box reveals that he originally tried a Hammond organ. Not right. Then he decided on a piano, though there was a problem in playing the type of solo he wanted, baroque style, at the right tempo. The solution was to play at half the speed and then play back the tape at double speed."No wonder that major scale at the end sounds impossible to play! Ern

Yah, they wanted it to sound like a harpsichord. Any clueas to why they didn't get a harpsichord?
